Kathleen Hurtt and Anthony Vultaggio of The Orange Catholic Foundation will share charitable strategies to help you give with greater wisdom, maximize your impact and build meaningful connections along the way and so simple you'll leave wondering why you haven't been taking advantage of these ideas for years.
They'll share ideas like:
✓ Stock you purchased decades ago is probably worth a fortune. Instead of paying the capital gains, consider taking a tax deduction for the full fair market value (FMV) of the stock and donate it to the church.
✓ If you are 70-1/2 and giving at least $250 or more to charity (the church, your alma mater, animals, etc), you could save yourself about 30% immediately by giving directly from your retirement account rather than your bank account through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).
✓ Want income? What if instead of getting an annuity from a bank that pays a monthly distribution, you received a monthly payment from the church? It's called a Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA).
