Join us for a 5-part series: Discovering Vatican II – Renewing Our Faith Today. Come deepen your understanding of one of the most significant events in the modern history of the Catholic Church. This series explores the Second Vatican Council (1962–1965), its purpose, and its lasting influence on Catholic life.
Session 1 - Sept. 9: Why Vatican II? – An overview of Pope St. John XXIII’s vision for the Council: to deepen the Church’s witness to Christ and help her proclaim the Gospel more effectively in today’s world.
Session 2 - Sept. 23: Dei Verbum – Divine Revelation through Scripture and Tradition.
Session 3 - Oct. 14: Lumen Gentium – The Church as the “Light of the Nations” and the People of God.
Session 4 - Oct. 21: Sacrosanctum Concilium – The renewal of the Sacred Liturgy.
Session 5 - Oct. 28: Gaudium et Spes – The Church’s engagement with the joys and hopes of the modern world.
Each session begins at 5:30 PM with appetizers and refreshments for fellowship. The presentation runs from 6:00–6:30 PM (no more than 30 minutes), followed by time for Q&A and discussion. All are welcome—parishioners, newcomers, and anyone interested in how Vatican II continues to shape our prayer, worship, community, and mission.
