Men's Club Author Talk - Jerad P. Bisson

Men's Club presents

Thursday, May 3

7:00-8:00 P.M. Duffy West

EVERYONE WELCOME! Author Jerad P. Bisson will be giving a talk on his two new books. Discover how to let God turn your ordinary life into an extraordinary one. Jerad will also discuss a way of loving your enemies — shining Christ's Light into your life and brightening our communities for a better world. Refreshments at 6:30 p.m. Regular Men's Club meeting will follow the presentation. For info call Jim Hennessy, 714-846-7433.

Mother and Child Shower

Justice + Peace Ministry will host an “April Shower” to support the three shelters for pregnant women listed on the Diocese of Orange website. These local non-profit Orange County organizations provide food, shelter, and support for homeless pregnant women. They also provide training for these mothers who hope to build a better future for themselves and their children. We will collect donations of items for babies and moms after all Masses next weekend April 28-29 and give your donations to these women on Mother's Day. See the bulletin for more information.

May Crowning

Saturday, May 5
Following 8:00 a.m. Mass

Please join us on this special day, when after a recent renovation, we welcome back and crown the statue of Our Holy Mother Mary in the grotto between the hall and parish center.  May Crowning is a traditional devotion in which an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary is crowned, usually with a wreath of flowers. This act of filial devotion is done in the springtime during the month of May to recognize Mary as Queen of Heaven, Queen of Earth and Queen of Peace.

The Prayer Process

The Prayer Process

Taken from The Four Signs of a Dynamic Catholic

  • Gratitude:
Begin by thanking God in a personal dialogue for whatever you are most grateful for today.

  • Awareness:
Revisit the times in the past twenty-four hours when you were and were not the-best-version-of-your-self. Talk to God about these situations and what you learned from them.

  • Significant Moments:
Identify something you experienced in the last twenty-four hours and explore what God might be trying to say to you through that event (or person).

  • Peace:
Ask God to forgive you for any wrong you have committed (against yourself, another person, or Him) and to fill you with a deep and abiding peace.

  • Freedom:
Speak with God about how He is inviting you to change your life, so that you can experience the freedom to be the-best-version-of-yourself.

  • Others:
Lift up to God anyone you feel called to pray for today, asking God to bless and guide them.

  • Pray the Our Father.

Resisting Happiness will inspire you to break through resistance so you can become the-best-version-of-yourself® and start living with passion and purpose.
