Compliance with Diocesan regulations regarding volunteers who work with children is required. Religious Education, aka CCD, is a program which teaches the beliefs and practices of our Catholic Faith. It serves the children who are enrolled in public or private non-Catholic schools in grades pre-K through 8th grade. We also offer sacrament preparation classes for Baptism, Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist. Religious Education is an on-going program. Each year becomes a base for the next. Graduating 8th graders will continue on in the High School Youth Ministry program where Confirmation preparation takes place
Liturgy of the Word for Children on Sundays Held during the 9:00 am Mass on Sundays, Sept-May. Children ages 6-10 are invited to join their peers to hear the readings at their age level. These children do not have to be enrolled in Religious Ed, but simply join the others when the priest announces their dismissal. They return to the parents in church after the homily of the Mass. |
